JessicaJessica Michelle Chastain was born on the 24th of March, 1977. She is an American producer, actress and model. Known for primarily starring in films with feminist themes. she has received numerous accolades which include an Academy Award and a Golden Globe Award. Time magazine named her one of the top 100 people in the world in 2012. Chastain started acting as a child. In 1998, she made her professional debut on stage in the role of Shakespeare's Juliet. She was a student at the Juilliard School and was then contracted to a talent holding deal with John Wells, a television producer. She was a frequent guest star on various television shows, and was a part of several stage productions. Chastain's first film appearance was in Jolene (2008) at 31 years old. In 2011, Chastain achieved her breakthrough with six film releases including The Tree of Life (2011), Take Shelter (2011), and The Tree of Life (2012). For her roles as the aspiring socialite and CIA analyst, she was awarded Academy Award nominations in The Help (2011) and Zero Dark Thirty (2012). The science fiction films Interstellar (2014) and The Martian (2015) were commercially more successful than the horror film It Chapter Two (2019). Chastain was not only praised for her portrayal of strong-willed women for example, in the dramas Most Violent Year (2014), Miss Sloane (2016) and Molly's Game (2017). She also appeared in the TV miniseries Scenes from a Marriage (1921). In the role of Tammy Faye Bakker, she was awarded the Academy Award for Best Actress and Tammy Wynette in The Eyes of Tammy Faye (21) and Tammy Wynette from The Eyes of Tammy-Faye. Chastain is the investor and founder of Freckle Films, a production company that promotes diversity in film. She is vocal about mental illness, gender equality and racial equality. Gian Luca Passi de Preposulo (fashion executive) is her spouse.
