Walker was born 1976 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Walker is of African-American descent and holds an American passport. She is the daughter of Harvey Welker a Native American father, and Julie Welker an African-American mother. Her mother works as an agent and her father works as a civil engineer. Walker was a student at the Germantown Friends School of Philadelphia's Germantown in 1994, and was awarded a diploma in 1994. When she graduated at Harvard College in 1998, she enrolled at Harvard College and earned her bachelor of Arts. Welker is married to John Hughes a well-known marketing director at Merck in Philadelphia and has two children. In 2014 the couple began to have an affair. John her husband is just four years older than her. The relationship was enjoying itself which is why they chose to continue their relationship. They got married on the 4th of March 2017.
